Keystone First Rated Among the Top Medicaid Plans in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA--()--Keystone First, a Blue Cross Medical Assistance (Medicaid) product and the largest Medical Assistance managed care product in Southeastern Pennsylvania, announced today that it is one of the top four Medicaid health plans in Pennsylvania according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA’s) Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2015–2016.

We are dedicated to improving health outcomes for the members we serve,” said Joanne McFall, market president for Keystone First. “By providing access to quality treatment and engaging our members within their communities, we emphasize the importance of health literacy, strengthening relationships with primary care providers and adopting healthier behaviors.”

Keystone First earned its top rating based on strong results from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®), a tool that measures performance on important dimensions of care and service, as well as the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, which measures member satisfaction with their overall health care experience.

We strongly support increased communication and enhanced cooperation among primary care practitioners, specialists, members and the community,” said Christine Jacobs, director of quality management for Keystone First. “This helps improve health outcomes and overall quality of life for our members.”

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes clinicians in key clinical areas. NCQA's HEDIS® is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care. NCQA's Web site (www.ncqa.org) contains information to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.
