MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blutip Power Technologies Inc. (“Blutip") captured its first order for the supply of its proprietary fuel management solutions into Africa. Blutip will supply Advanced Universal Controllers (AUCs) with associated high-precision fuel monitoring capabilities for haul trucks at a large gold mine in West Africa.
Blutip AUCs provide engine remapping that reduces fuel consumption while at the same time maintaining the power output of the engine and other functionality of the original equipment provider’s electronic control unit. The improvement in fuel efficiency through use of the AUC is allowing Blutip customers to reduce their carbon footprint as well as reduce particulate matter emissions.
Blutip’s AUCs in conjunction with accompanying high-precision fuel meters also provide data analytics tools that can include engine loading time distributions, integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) data, and fuel -usage-based calculation of Effective Flat Haul (EFH) and Total Effective Grade (TEG). These tools allow customers to optimize the efficiency of both individual equipment as well as the fleet based on haul cycles and mine geography, to enhance predictive fuel burn and predictive maintenance capabilities, and to evaluate other fuel saving initiatives.
“Blutip is excited to deploy our fuel saving solutions to the continent of Africa, expanding on our installed base in North America, Latin America and Australia”, said Chuck Knott, President & CEO of Blutip. “We are committed to working across Africa to offer customers significant fuel cost savings with the Blutip AUC and to provide real-time fuel management analytical tools across their HME fleets.”
