Lawdragon Caps Off 10th Year Anniversary Celebration, Looks Forward to Second Decade

NEW YORK--()--The legal media company Lawdragon Inc. announced the successful completion of its 10th Year Anniversary celebration, which was capped off by this fall’s release of a special 2015 commemoration issue of Lawdragon Magazine.

Founded in 2005, Lawdragon provides free online news and features on high-profile legal matters and the lawyers handling them, including those honored in the popular “Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers” guide. The company’s Lawdragon Press division also offers paid content, branding and marketing services to law firms and other professionals.

“It’s been a challenging era for media companies, so our tenth year has been particularly rewarding,” said Lawdragon founder and CEO Katrina Dewey. “The journey to get to this point has been amazing, with interest in our editorial coverage and paid services increasing each year.”

The 10th Year Anniversary edition of Lawdragon Magazine features the Lawdragon 500 and, for the first time, a new Hall of Fame guide for past honorees and a special “Legends” section for those who have made the 500 all ten years. As always, the annual magazine has dozens of articles on the nation’s most interesting practitioners and the best photojournalism in the industry.

The National Law Review recently praised Lawdragon for providing “ten years of captivating legal journalism” and “telling great stories about the law and lawyering.” John Ryan, a co-founder and the company’s Editor-in-Chief, said his team has dedicated coverage not only to high-end transactions and litigation but also to pro bono and human rights issues, with reporting from places like South Africa, Rwanda, The Hague, the former Yugoslavia and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

A highlight of Lawdragon’s tenth year was the Lawdragon Press division, which saw remarkable growth in its first full year with the number of clients served. Products include attorney profiles, practice area or firm “Roundtables,” mini-magazines, website development and branding support.

“The key has been our flexibility,” Dewey said. “We spend the time figuring out the content support a firm or lawyer needs, then work with them to create a cost-effective solution.”

Dewey said that 2016 will bring new excitement with the planned second iteration of the Lawdragon Campus site, which is a resource for prospective law students and others interested in legal education.

“To say we are excited for our second decade is an understatement,” Dewey said.
