Tubular Labs Ranks the Top Cross-Platform Video Brands and Influencers in November 2015

The Ellen Show Ends Buzzfeed’s Reign as #1 Cross-Platform Video Creator

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--()--Tubular Labs, Inc., the worldwide leader in online video intelligence, today released rankings for the most watched online video creators in November 2015. Creator rankings include both brands and influencers. For the first month this year, Buzzfeed media properties fall out of the top two spots. The Ellen Show started its rise last month, and this month claims the #1 spot with 1.1 billion views. Justin Bieber combines major views on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to jump to the #2 rank with 853 million views. Bieber launched new music videos in November, as did Adele, leading to their rise in the rankings.

This month, Tubular also released rankings of the Top 25 Video Brand “Viewmakers,” the brands generating the most video views online. LEGO ranks #1 with 151 million views, followed by Red Bull, Disney Parks and Walmart. Clash of Clans is the most engaging brand on the list, with a 5.7% engagement rate. Brands like Walmart and Tide have social engagement rates on their video near 0%, typically a sign of heavy paid promotion.

Television Brands continue to perform well, including news, sports, and late night content. NBC Nightly News and The Weather Channel both premiered on the rankings in November.

Overall

  • The top 100 video brands and influencers together generated 36 billion total cross-platform views in November, down slightly from 37 billion in October but up 105% from January 2015.

Facebook

  • Buzzfeed dominated on Facebook, with Tasty (a Buzzfeed property) maintaining its #1 spot, and Buzzfeed Food and Buzzfeed Video taking the #3 and #5 spots respectively. The Ellen Show and Tip Hero (how-to and food channel) took the #2 and #4 spots.

Instagram

  • Justin Bieber, the NBA and Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation each climbed one spot to take the #1, #2 and #3 spots respectively.

YouTube

  • YouTube content was dominated by music channels such as Justin Bieber (at #1 spot and up 14 spots from October) and Adele (at #2 spot and new to YouTube rankings), as well as baby and toy brands, like Little Baby Bum and Ryan ToysReview ranking in the top 5.
