FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nancy Pierce has been named senior vice president of GEICO. She will continue to have general management responsibilities for GEICO’s mid-Atlantic regional operations in Fredericksburg and Virginia Beach, Va. Pierce will also oversee the company's commercial and motorcycle operations.

Pierce began her career at GEICO in 1986, as a claims department associate and later held supervisory and management positions in the regional claims and planning and control departments. In 1995, she participated in the company's Executive Assistant Program and then served as director of telephone sales and service for the mid-Atlantic region.
In 1996, Pierce was elected assistant vice president of underwriting for mid-Atlantic operations in Fredericksburg, and then was named vice president of underwriting and product management. In 2000, she went on to head GEICO’s West Coast operations in San Diego, Calif., before returning to Fredericksburg to serve as regional vice president in 2006.
In 2008, Pierce was appointed vice president of GEICO’s claims home office operations in the company’s headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md. Four years later, she returned to Fredericksburg to head GEICO’s mid-Atlantic regional operations again.
Pierce chairs the Board of Governors for the National Insurance Crime Bureau; a two-year term to which she was elected in 2014. She is a graduate of The American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in history and a minor in criminal justice.
