Kore Infrastructure Wins American Water Summit 2015 “Tech Idol” with Biosolids-to-Energy Solution

DENVER--()--A biosolids management solution offered by Kore Infrastructure that produces valuable energy resources won the Water Tech Idol innovation competition at this year’s American Water Summit. An audience of water industry executives judged the event.

Steve Wirtel, Kore Infrastructure’s Executive Vice President of Business Development, presented Kore’s solution in the competition highlighting the company’s deep knowledge base built during a six-year, on-site pilot with the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD). Wirtel also noted Kore’s first commercial facility has been fully permitted and will begin servicing a long-term, performance-based contract with LACSD in 2016.

“Kore meets the key challenges facing the industry today by delivering a stable, non-land-based biosolids management solution that strongly supports utilities’ sustainability goals,” said Wirtel. “We provide this solution as a service to allow utilities to adopt the innovation without risk.”

“This year’s Summit focused on the circular economy and the power of alternative delivery models to bring innovative solutions to scale,” said Christopher Gasson, Publisher of Global Water Intelligence (GWI). “We’re seeing how these models can accelerate innovation and adoption, with Kore being a very good example of that.”

Now in its sixth year, GWI’s American Water Summit brings together senior executives and top decision-makers from the water, energy, finance, and technology sectors as well as municipal leaders to talk about the future of water.

Kore Infrastructure converts biosolids into renewable energy resources. This forward-looking biosolids management solution is provided as a service so utilities assume no capital cost or technical risk. For more information, please email info@koreinfrastructure.com.
