ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Association of Old Crows (AOC) is pleased to announce the opening of its Inaugural STEM Outreach Program at the 52nd Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention. The STEM Outreach Program features include an F-35 flight simulator, a cyber hacking event, drones, and microwave and sonic dispersion demonstrations. Over 400 students from schools across the D.C. metro area will be in attendance for the program. Fostering an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is of vital importance to both the AOC and to the United States. Over the course of 2015, the AOC has been working with membership, volunteers, and industry partners to create an educational, exciting, fun, and interactive experience for Washington D.C. middle school, high school, and undergraduate students.
The Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention is the largest and most prestigious event in the Electromagnetic Warfare community. This year’s symposium, “Synchronizing EW and Cyber to Achieve Spectrum Dominance,” features a number of high-ranking keynote speakers including Gen John Hyten, Commander of Air Force Space Command; Lt Gen Bradley A. Heithold, Commander, Air Force Special Operations Command; Dr. Thomas Kennedy, Chairman and CEO of Raytheon; Ms. Michele Weslander-Quaid, former Intelligence Community Deputy CIO; and Gen Michael Hayden, former Director of the NSA and former Director of the CIA. The event promises to be an impressive one, with twelve individual sessions, expert-delivered professional development courses, and an exhibit hall featuring nearly 150 booths.
The 52nd Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention, begins on December 1st at 8:00 AM at the Marriott Marquis in Washington D.C. The STEM Outreach Program opens Tuesday afternoon for convention attendees and opens to students on Wednesday at 8:30 AM in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
