MINNEAPOLIS--()--HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, today announced that Scott Vogt has been promoted to president of CBSHOME Real Estate, effective immediately, and on January 1, 2016 will succeed Joe Valenti as chief executive officer. Valenti will continue as CEO for the remainder of the year and will then transition to Chairman Emeritus of the company.

CBSHOME is one of Omaha’s most recognized real estate companies with nearly 400 agents serving buyers and sellers throughout the Omaha metro area and its surrounding communities. Through October 2015, CBSHOME closed nearly 5,400 transactions and nearly $1.2 billion in sales volume.

Valenti began his real estate career in 1976 as a sales associate and in 1985 purchased and served as president of Wurdeman of Omaha, which would later become HOME Real Estate. “I have learned a tremendous amount from Joe,” said Vogt. “He has built a team of talented agents, sales managers and employees and I look forward to building on CBSHOME’s great tradition as we take CBSHOME to its next stage of growth and performance.”

“I am proud of everyone at CBSHOME and what we have achieved,” said Valenti. “And I’m confident that CBSHOME will continue to grow and prosper as we serve consumers, our associates and staff with Scott at the helm.”

“Joe’s leadership helped guide CBSHOME to become a prominent real estate company,” said Robert Moline, CEO of HomeServices’ brokerage division. “On behalf of all of HomeServices, we thank him for his innumerable contributions and we wish him well as he enters this new chapter of his life.
