BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As impressively shown by four-time Formula-1 world champion, Sebastian Vettel in his role as brand ambassador in a new international advertising campaign for the online tyre dealer, Tirendo: with the right tyres, there is no such thing as the wrong direction.
The racing driver begins his spectacular manoeuvre in a black Dodge Challenger, wheels spinning and front wheel locked. At high speed, he drives the racing car through a deserted area. In the course of the commercial, which is barely 1½ minutes’ long, the audience becomes aware that Vettel is obviously driving backwards. The reason for his unusual backward journey, it becomes apparent, is his small passenger.
For both adrenalin-junkies and Vettel-fans alike, the unique commercial – never produced like this before - is guaranteed to be a pleasure to watch. Driving fun and safety - always with the right tyres - are paramount and have no controversial impact in the commercial.
The commercial was filmed in mid-October in Trieste, a large harbour city in northern Italy. The old industrial harbour serves as an impressive backdrop and lends a particular flair to the video. The shots were predominantly filmed backwards. Sebastian Vettel: “I am usually used to driving forwards, so the commercial was really something new for me. Driving backwards has never been so much fun”. Dirk Busse, Tirendo managing director: “The commercial is unique with regard to both the idea and the use of Sebastian. We are anxious to see what the reaction will be.”
The commercial was made in the middle of the harbour, which has lain unused for almost 30 years, together with the Grey Berlin advertising agency and director Maximilian Ehrlenwein.
