PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A new business-grade Internet service from Orange Business Services – Business VPN Internet Accelerate – provides access to cloud applications up to ten times faster1 for enterprise users worldwide. Based on Akamai Cloud Networking, it helps improve productivity by ensuring employees can reliably access internal and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications globally. It is a major addition to the Orange Business VPN global offer for multinational corporations, underpinned by end-to-end Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
This new business-grade Internet solution delivers up to ten times faster access to cloud applications, such as CRM, ERP and Business Intelligence. With optimized SaaS access, enterprise users no longer have to wait for cloud-based applications, dashboards and documents to open and save, thereby helping to boost productivity and customer service levels. Business VPN Internet Accelerate also provides reliable VPN transport over the Internet for branch office sites connected via an IPSec tunnel over the Internet.
The Orange business-grade Internet service relies on the global Akamai Intelligent Platform, which includes nearly 200,000 servers across more than 110 countries and advanced optimization technologies. It also leverages the Orange global, secure, private network with a wide choice of mobile, satellite and wireline access links, providing reach into any geography.
To ensure the best possible cloud application experience, Orange leverages its five customer support centers and eight CyberSecurity Operations Centers around the world. This provides enterprise network traffic analysis, service configuration, SLA and security monitoring and incident management services. Optimized connectivity is complemented by a wide choice of market-leading cloud solutions available in the Orange Business Services secured cloud hub, Business VPN Galerie.
“Getting networks fit for a cloud future with ‘business grade’ connectivity is a vital first step that enterprises need to take to meet their digital business transformation goals. Business VPN Internet Accelerate complements our Business VPN offering and allows enterprises to embrace global hybrid networks and the Internet, while maximizing reliability, performance and security,” said Pierre-Louis Biaggi, vice president, Connectivity Solutions, Orange Business Services.
“Akamai and Orange have a long-running joint innovation board, and it is exciting to have Orange select Akamai Cloud Networking to power Business VPN Internet Accelerate. We’ve leveraged Akamai’s proven web acceleration technology and the Orange track record of supporting enterprises’ digital transformation programs with the right mix of connectivity and security solutions, cloud applications, and M2M/mobile platforms. This combination will ensure enterprises get the fast, reliable and secure cloud services they need to drive profitable growth,” said Willie M. Tejada, senior vice president and GM, Cloud Networking, Akamai.
Orange is currently running pilots of Business VPN Internet Accelerate with a number of enterprises, and the service is scheduled to be globally available in early 2016.
