AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TrendKite, a PR analytics company for agencies and corporate brands, has raised $10.7 million in a Series C funding, led by Atlanta-based Noro-Moseley Partners with repeat participation from Battery Ventures, Silverton Partners, and Mercury Fund. The funds will be used to scale and support the soaring demand of a rapidly growing customer base, further accelerate the IP roadmap and to double their current team of 70 employees within the next six months. To date TrendKite has raised $20.6 million.
“This round, combined with the last, gives us the foundation needed to scale our company for further growth,” said Erik Huddleston, CEO of TrendKite. “We are aggressively recruiting top talent and are accelerating the product roadmap that will empower PR professionals and corporate brands.”
Earlier this month, TrendKite relocated to a downtown Austin space four times the size of its previous office to accommodate the growth it has and will continue to experience. Not only has TrendKite grown its team by over 300 percent in the last year alone, the company consistently doubles its revenue every four to five months. To date, the company works with over 400 brands including Nike, Hershey, Pinterest, the Memphis Grizzlies, Mondelez International and Asana.
“TrendKite’s team truly understands the needs of today’s communication professionals,” said Sydney Siegmeth, PR director at TASER. “By listening and building their offering to the beat of today’s media environment, TrendKite has become an invaluable tool for us as we analyze the impact of our public relations and marketing efforts.”
TrendKite helps brands and agencies measure the effectiveness of their PR efforts. The team at TrendKite is made up of PR, marketing and technology professionals who pride themselves on living in their customers’ worlds, talking with customers daily to better understand their unmet needs.
“Media and the way brands are telling their stories is evolving,” said Matt Allison, founder and chief product officer of TrendKite. “In the PR industry, media monitoring has remained static for a hundred years. The TrendKite team is focused on using the latest in big data technologies to go beyond media monitoring and provide quantification of impact and optimization of tactics.”
TrendKite’s customers are increasingly innovative in their use of the platform—from finding trending thought leadership content to bolster their social channels to measuring revenue attribution of sales driven from PR. Sports teams like the Memphis Grizzlies are able to see everything from what’s being said about their players to fan sentiment, and ultimately the overall reputation of the brand.
“TrendKite is one of the most well run companies we have seen in some time. It’s remarkable how quickly they are scaling and clearly their product offering is resonating within the PR universe,” said Alan Taetle, general partner at Noro-Moseley Partners. “We are excited to back such an excellent management team and to join a great group of investment syndicate partners.”
