The University of Southern California Marshall School of Business has a long history of commitment to diversity within its student body. In 1968, the school joined The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, as the second class of schools to do so. The Consortium was founded by Washington University’s Professor Sterling Schoen in 1966 to give African American men the business skills they need to secure positions in American corporations. Since then, The Consortium has broadened its mission to include women, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans and all U.S. citizens and permanent residents who support the organization’s mission. This year, The Consortium will offer membership to more than 400 incoming students attending 18 member universities.
