CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Driver’s Choice, a wholly owned subsidiary of Confie Seguros of Huntington Beach, CA is announcing that it is making a cash donation to the American Red Cross to assist in helping those in need who have suffered from the recent floods in Charleston. Driver’s Choice has two stores that were damaged but are now open for business after clean-up; its store in Two Notch will be closed until further notice.
The mission of the American Red Cross is to provide care to those in need. They have a network of donors, volunteers and employees who prevent and relieve suffering in the US and throughout the world. The Red Cross is usually the first responder during disasters like the flooding in South Carolina, providing shelter, food, health and mental health services. This is why the collection bins at all four Driver’s Choice offices are critical in helping the community.
The Red Cross dispatched Emergency Response Vehicles throughout the disaster area to hand out food and relief supplies. It has opened shelters where victims can find a safe haven during the night. Those in shelters receive hot meals as well as assistance from volunteers. Red Cross works are delivering water, snacks, health care and mental health care free of charge to those individuals and families who have been devastated.
Kenneth Champagne, Driver’s Choice Business Unit Leader commented, “The floods have been devastating for so many in the area. We at Driver’s Choice have also been impacted by the floods, too. Several of our stores have sustained damage, and we’ve had to close our store at Two Notch until further notice. It is during times like these, however, that coming together is paramount. I’m pleased that our organization is doing its part to contribute to those affected, both monetarily and with our donation bins.”
Valeria Rico, Chief Executive of Confie (parent company of Driver’s Choice) stated, “Commitment is one of our core values here at Confie. That includes commitment not just to our customers and stakeholders, but to our community. We are saddened by the devastation of the South Carolina floods, and are doing what we can to help the community in the wake of the storms.”
