The National Hemophilia Foundation Announces the Comprehensive Care Sustainability Collaborative (CCSC), a Quality Improvement and Cost-management Initiative to Improve Outcomes in Hemophilia Care

NEW YORK--()--The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) and Impact Education, LLC (IMPACT) are pleased to announce the Comprehensive Care Sustainability Collaborative (CCSC), an ongoing quality improvement and cost-management initiative driven by the insights of a prominent group of hemophilia treatment center (HTC) directors, clinicians, and administrators working in conjunction with payer/managed care medical and pharmacy directors from a mix of large national and regional health plans. The CCSC’s aim is to develop a framework for pilot programs between payers and HTCs to be replicated across the United States to facilitate cost-effective hemophilia management integrating the HTC comprehensive care model.

The CCSC convened in 2014 with two inaugural consensus meetings among health care stakeholders; an additional meeting was held in June 2015. The HTCs' comprehensive care management and documented ability to achieve quality care with improved outcomes served as a discussion focal point for the meetings, as well as payers' perspectives on the specialty drug forecast and the management of hemophilia. White paper proceedings, which include HTC and payer-specific outcomes metrics, from the consensus meetings can be requested at www.ccscHemo.com.

The website also features a video highlighting the benefits of the comprehensive care model and includes interviews with patients, leading hematologists, HTC administrators, payer experts, and patient advocates. You can also register for the upcoming America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) live webcast on October 1, 2015 from 12:00-1:00 pm EDT. Visit www.ccscHemo.com for more information.

The ongoing CCSC initiative is sponsored by the NHF in conjunction with IMPACT, and is funded by a charitable contribution from Baxalta US, Inc.
