FRISCO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ER Holdings, an entity controlled by the same investment group as Family ER + Urgent Care, a privately held operator of emergency and urgent care centers in the Dallas, TX area, and ER Centers of America (ERCA), a privately held operator of emergency and urgent care centers in both North Dallas and Lubbock, TX, jointly announced they have agreed to terms governing the acquisition of ERCA by ER Holdings pursuant to certain approvals and customary closing conditions. Upon closing (which is scheduled for October 2015), ERCA would be held as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ER Holdings and continue to be operated on a day-to-day basis by its current management.
“We are excited about this announcement,” said John McGee, COO of ERCA. “It would offer our company and team a great opportunity to benefit from additional scale and balance sheet of the combined companies. It also would allow us to take advantage of best practices and position the combined companies for future success.”
“This industry is poised for tremendous growth, and we are positioned to grow with it,” said Scott Pickett, CEO of Family ER + Urgent Care. “Through the acquisition ERCA, we would be able to broaden our capacity to provide unscheduled medical care, emergency and urgent care services to all patients in the DFW and Lubbock communities. We believe this provides continued career growth opportunities for both Family ER’s and ERCA’s outstanding clinical and non-clinical staff.”
