SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aviatrix, a cloud networking startup, today announced a Series A financing of $10 million, jointly led by investors Formation 8 and Ignition Partners. The company was originally seed funded by Monta Vista Capital.
Aviatrix is founded by Pankaj Manglik, who previously founded Aruba Networks and Sherry Wei, who previously held senior engineering and architect roles at Cisco and Huawei. The company develops software that enables enterprises to build hybrid clouds by easily, elastically and securely connecting to dozens of AWS virtual private clouds (VPCs) and Azure VNets without buying additional networking equipment. Aviatrix also allows employees and partners to connect directly to the cloud without traditional corporate VPNs. Software vendors can use Aviatrix to migrate their on-premise apps to the cloud and switch to a single tenant SaaS model. Current customers of Aviatrix include large and small enterprises.
“With the increasing adoption of the hybrid cloud, enterprises face new challenges in extending their network to the public cloud,” said Pankaj Manglik, CEO of Aviatrix. Sherry Wei, Aviatrix CTO said, “With Aviatrix, CloudOps can build networks as dynamic and disposable as compute and storage.”
As part of the financing, Shirish Sathaye, General Partner of Formation 8 and Nick Sturiale, Managing Partner of Ignition Partners, will join the board. “Aviatrix completely hides all the network complexity of integrating public and private cloud, on-premise and end user services,” said Nick Sturiale. “As enterprises move to a hybrid cloud architecture, Aviatrix offers an enterprise platform to make it easy to do so,” added Shirish Sathaye, “and I am happy to be working with Pankaj again.”
