WATERTOWN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mimecast today announced the appointment of Ed Jennings as chief operating officer (COO), Joe Freitas as senior vice president of Human Resources (HR), and Hagi Schwartz to the Board of Directors and chair of the Audit Committee. Ed will lead Mimecast’s global marketing, sales and services teams while Joe will lead the global HR organization.

Ed joins Mimecast from cloud-based application security company, Veracode, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to Veracode, he served as General Manager at ADP, where he was responsible for their SaaS-based compliance business. Additionally, he was CEO at Copanion, a SaaS workflow solution.
Joe joins Mimecast from Mercury Systems, where he held the position of vice president of HR and was responsible for improving its talent strategy and development. Joe has an extensive background in strategic HR operations planning. Before this, Joe was vice president of HR at NMS Communications/LiveWire Mobile, where he was responsible for global HR strategy.
In addition to serving on Mimecast’s Board of Directors, Hagi serves on the Board of Directors at SGI and Can Capital, Inc.; is a Venture Partner at Western Technology Investment; and was a Managing Director of Magnolia Capital. He previously was Chief Financial Officer of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., HyperRoll, Inc., ATRICA, Inc. and Noosh, Inc.
