CENTENNIAL, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW) today announced that it is now offering Retire-IT’s certified chain-of-custody services to customers of Arrow’s Value Recovery business.
Arrow has always provided secure chain-of-custody options to its clients. This collaboration with Retire-IT provides Arrow’s Value Recovery customers who require a highly secure chain-of-custody with the added option of utilizing a third-party provider to verify that all of their IT assets are accounted for throughout the shipping and refurbishment processes.
“Chain-of-custody is a critical security requirement for all of Arrow’s Value Recovery clients,” said Joep van Loon, vice president of Arrow's Value Recovery business in North America. “Arrow's Value Recovery business is focused on providing the most secure and trusted solution for our clients—they turn to us because we are the most effective and most transparent provider in this space. In addition to Arrow’s already-comprehensive services, our clients can now have chain-of-custody verified by an independent third-party in order to satisfy their requirements under various privacy laws and regulations.”
Retire-IT is a leading chain-of-custody specialist in IT asset disposition (ITAD). The company pioneered the use of ITAD disposal tags to deter employee theft and establish an unbroken chain-of-custody for retired equipment. Retire-IT’s proprietary tracking software can instantly verify the custody of a specific IT asset, automating the inventory-reconciliation process.
“Chain-of-custody is not a catchphrase," said Tyler Parks, vice president of Retire-IT. “As an industry leader, Arrow recognizes that its clients require chain-of-custody for privacy compliance. By providing its clients with independent verification and effective tools, Arrow demonstrates a deep commitment to transparency and shows why it is a trusted provider for security-conscious organizations.”
Arrow’s Value Recovery business works with its customers to securely refurbish computers, tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices for additional use, or repurpose their still-valuable component parts for other uses. Whenever possible, Arrow emphasizes extending the life of these devices by selling them, redeploying them within organizations or donating them. Arrow has been recognized as a global leader for its Value Recovery work by the independent information technology research and advisory firm Gartner.
