Columbus Consolidated Government to Implement Tyler Technologies’ Leading Appraisal and Tax Solutions

Georgia-based government, a long-time Tyler client, will use Tyler’s iasWorld software and mass appraisal services

PLANO, Texas--()--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the Columbus Consolidated Government in Columbus, Georgia, to implement Tyler’s iasWorld® appraisal and tax administration software, as well as engage Tyler’s CLT Appraisal Services™.

Columbus Consolidated, which has used Tyler’s appraisal and tax products since 1992, chose to upgrade to iasWorld to streamline workflow and eliminate duplicate processes between its tax office and appraisal department. The government also saw value in how the new system will provide employees and taxpayers with increased online access of real-time data, including penalties and fees.

Being a long-time Tyler client, Columbus Consolidated knew Tyler could help create efficiencies while helping the government remain compliant with current and future legislative regulations. Tyler’s superior support over the past two decades was key to Columbus Consolidated Government’s decision.

Implementation of iasWorld CAMA™ and iasWorld Tax™, along with key integrated solutions and add-on features, will help Columbus Consolidated manage the full property tax life cycle for parcels. iasWorld will also improve the quality of assessments and provide survey, billing, collections, imaging, GIS and appeals.

Columbus Consolidated will use Tyler’s CLT Appraisal services, which has appraised more than 30 million parcels since its founding in 1938, for services relating to a reassessment for specified parcels of real property. By applying mass reappraisal methods and procedures to all designated parcels, Tyler will achieve a high degree of uniformity and an equitable level of valuation between properties throughout the county by January 1, 2017. The level of appraisal accuracy and uniformity will be measured by statistical reports produced in iasWorld and will meet or exceed Georgia Department of Revenue standards.

Columbus Consolidated Government is Georgia’s first consolidated government, formed in 1971 when the city of Columbus merged with Muscogee County. This model streamlines processes to bring high-level citizen services at a lower per capita cost. Other departments of the Columbus Consolidated Government have used Tyler’s EnerGov™ planning, regulatory and maintenance solution since 2005.
