from 1936 to 1975.
WHEN: Friday, August 7 – On National Lighthouse Day, the
restoration will be unveiled to the public.
- 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Media are invited for tours and interviews by appointment.
- Approximately 8 p.m. (sundown) – PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: The LV-112's beacon will shine for one night only in honor of the ship’s restoration at sundown (expected to be at about 8:00 p.m.) and be bright enough to be seen throughout Boston. Media are invited to photograph the lighting.
WHERE: The ship is located at the Boston Harbor Shipyard &
Marina, 256 Marginal St., East Boston.

Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express will be available
for interviews to discuss the preservation of the historic lightship and
other endangered places across Boston and the United States.
