TRIBUNE CONTENT AGENCY INTRODUCES DATA-DRIVEN VIDEO NETWORK
Tribune Content Agency (TCA), a division of Tribune Publishing (NYSE:TPUB), today announced the launch of the TCA Video Network, a new syndication service offering media companies, content producers and advertisers premium video and broad distribution solutions.
At its inception, the TCA Video Network will provide more than 1,000 new videos a day from more than 150 media brands. Tribune Publishing’s news and information brands, including Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune, will also contribute content. The Network will deliver breaking news; local, national, and international reports; entertainment and celebrity content; business and financial news; and lifestyle and how-to features. The Network will also offer professionally edited user-generated content.
“We’ve created this network to leverage Tribune Publishing’s deep experience syndicating content to media companies for almost a century and to capitalize on the rapidly growing consumer and advertiser interest in videos across all platforms,” said Joycelyn Winnecke, President of Tribune Content Agency. “This powerful new video distribution channel provides a premium user experience across all screens, especially mobile, and allows media companies to expand their reach and publishers to grow their audiences.”
A key benefit of the TCA Video Network for publishers is compelling video content from recognized and diverse brands. Tribune Content Agency video editors will curate news reports, niche content channels and potentially viral video to help publishers drive views and attract new audiences from a wide range of demographics including millennials.
The TCA Video Network offers content providers and publishers analytic tools and a new channel for advertisers to reach their coveted audiences. The addition of a video service is the latest in a series of expansions of Tribune Content Agency’s offerings, including SUCCESS, a multiplatform personal finance offering; TCA Originals, a service that matches remarkable journalism with TV, movie and documentary producers; and TCA Games Network for digital games and puzzles. Tribune Content Agency is a premier syndication and licensing business that serves 2,000 clients in nearly 100 countries.
TCA Video Network content providers have access to sophisticated tools that track viewership of individual videos and websites, as well as monitor engagement and revenue. Content producers can also benefit from expanded market reach and brand visibility. “Content providers will appreciate that we provide an analytical framework,” said Winnecke. “This transparency will help facilitate improved content planning for increased monetization.”
