Toshiba Debuts New Satellite L Series Mainstream Laptops Offering Best-in-Class Audio

Built with Windows 10 in Mind and Equipped with Sound System Tuned by Skullcandy, Toshiba’s Satellite L Series Laptops are Versatile Choice for Families and Students

IRVINE, Calif.--()--Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., introduced today the new Satellite® L Series laptops, available in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch screen sizes and built to take advantage of the key features of Windows 10. The only laptops in their class to feature a branded audio solution, Satellite L series laptops pump out rich, natural sound via stereo speakers tuned by the audio experts at Skullcandy®.

Premium Performance for Work and Play

The Satellite L Series laptops are designed for Windows 10 and include hardware features ready to make the most of the new operating system. The laptops feature an integrated HD webcam and dual-array TruTalk™ microphones to enable voice apps like Cortana and Skype and a dedicated Cortana key offers easy access to Microsoft’s personal digital assistant for finding information.

Configurations include the latest generation processors from Intel® and AMD, up to 16GB of memory1 and up to 1TB storage2, plus 802.11bgn or ultra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi® for high-performance, cable-free networking, and the convenience of Bluetooth® for connecting enabled phones, printers and speakers. With a battery life rating of up to seven hours on the 15.6-inch model and 5 hours 45 minutes on the 17.3-inch model, plus smart multitasking, customers can handle serious work and powerful play whenever and wherever they please.

Enhanced Entertainment and Standout Styling

The Satellite L Series can now be configured with up to a Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) IPS TruBrite® display, delivering better screen quality for watching movies, streaming Netflix® and easier photo and video editing. Customers have the option to play music or watch the latest DVD movies with the built-in DVD SuperMulti drive.

To round out the entertainment experience, Toshiba and Skullcandy, along with DTS®, aligned to tune the built-in speakers to Skullcandy’s audio spec, as well as integrate a custom sound profile with optimized settings for Skullcandy headphones and earbuds, providing a richer, clearer and more natural sound.

The new 17.3-inch Satellite L Series laptops will be available on July 29, 2015 at major retailers, e-tailers and direct from Toshiba at toshiba.com/us, starting at $569.99 MSRP.

The laptops will initially ship with Windows 8.1 pre-installed and is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when it becomes available on July 296.
