Jim Brady joins Grant Thornton to lead Central region

CHICAGO--()--Jim Brady has joined Grant Thornton LLP as Central region managing partner, based in the firm’s Chicago office, effective Aug. 1.

Most recently, Brady served as Deloitte LLP’s national managing partner for U.S. Government Affairs & Public Policy. In his new role, he will be responsible for all operations, including client service and professional matters, for Grant Thornton’s Great Plains, Midwest, Texoma and Great Lakes market territories. He will serve on the firm’s Senior Leadership Team. Brady will work closely with Ed O’Brien, whom he will succeed upon O’Brien’s retirement from the firm.

Brady has nearly 35 years of experience in professional services, including more than 20 as a partner serving Fortune 1000 companies. He has extensive experience auditing both large and medium-sized public and private companies. Previously, he focused on growth, talent and global operations as Deloitte’s U.S. national audit leader for Growth Enterprises and as the U.S. chief talent officer. Abroad, he spent seven years launching and building audit and advisory practices in India and Russia. He served as chief executive officer for the U.S.-India Audit and Advisory Joint Venture in Hyderabad, India, and as regional managing partner in Moscow. He also served five years as Deloitte’s Southeast regional partner.

Brady is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the boards of trustees and directors of the Chautauqua Institution and Foundation, and the Graduate Management Admission Council. He serves on the Center for Strategic and International Studies Advisory Board and the Carter Center Board of Councilors. He is also a member of the Wake Forest University School of Business Board of Visitors.

Brady received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
