CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kaplan University online students came together last night and today to celebrate their academic achievements at the University’s 2015 Summer Commencement held at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago.
More than 1,000 graduates were celebrated for earning Associate, Bachelor or Master Degrees from the Schools of Business and Information Technology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Education, Health Sciences and Nursing as well as the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Anna Cabral, the 42nd Treasurer of the United States (2005-2009), delivered the keynote address to master’s-level graduates on Friday night.
Dr. Mae Jemison, the first female African American astronaut to travel in space, delivered the commencement address to under-graduate-level graduates at two ceremonies held today.
More than 1,000 graduates attended the ceremonies with their friends and families. Thousands more graduates and their families watched and celebrated from around the world via a live webcast.
During the 2014-2015 academic year, Kaplan University conferred over 11,400 degrees and more than 600 certificates and diplomas to its online students.
