FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Solaria Corporation, global provider of solar photovoltaic module technologies, today announced it has garnered support from a world renowned team of net zero energy visionaries, leaders in sustainable design and high performance buildings, award winning architects, commercial and residential developers, and the founding father of LEED. Solaria’s Advisory Council for its building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) division will share best practices to accelerate the commercialization and proliferation of green buildings and BIPV. Building on 30MW deployed globally, an IP portfolio of more than 100 patents and a highly efficient and automated manufacturing line, Solaria is leveraging its core technology to develop and deliver new applications. Specifically, it offers solar solutions optimized for rooftop and utility photovoltaics, BIPV and agriculture.
“For the last 30 years, I have been committed to making the building industry more sustainable. The building envelope is one of the last frontiers of opportunity to dramatically improve the energy efficiency of the built environment,” said Rob Watson, "Founding Father of LEED” and Former Director and Vice Chairman, USGBC. "I believe Solaria’s BIPV solutions have finally “cracked the code” of using building facades as an electricity generating resource. Solaria provides a flexible solution with great transparency at a truly competitive cost. This product seems like an obvious choice for builders and developers who are creating the next generation of smart buildings.”
"When I first saw Solaria's glass technology, I had a glimpse of the future, I saw how we can get to net zero energy buildings,” said David Bassan, Architect, former Technical Director, SCB. “Not only does their system perform well and look great, which architects and contractors will like, but Solaria has cracked the code for adoption by developers by figuring out the massive economic and tax benefits for projects."
Solaria’s new application for BIPV offers customers the combined value of high-efficiency, attractive aesthetics, compelling economics and a high level of customization. Solaria accomplishes this by leveraging proven materials and its advanced proprietary manufacturing process to improve standard cells through singulation, re-assembly, packaging, and testing. This results in building facades that generate electricity efficiently while providing a distinct, clean, uniform view.
“Solaria is honored to collaborate with this team of industry veterans to pursue our combined goal of accelerating the proliferation of BIPV to turn building facades into generating assets,” said Udi Paret, General Manager, Building Solutions division, Solaria Corporation. “Our council of experts will advise us as we scale our technology and pave the way for efficient and cost-effective clean power generation via optimized solutions for specific applications,“
