DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ad:tech, the event for modern marketing and media, has announced Retailigence, Vistar Media and Ad Adapted as winners in its Startup Spotlight Series. The Startup Spotlight Series is a competition that acknowledges and rewards the most innovative, young companies in marketing today. The winners were selected during three Startup Spotlight sessions last week, where finalists went head-to-head on the NEXT Stage in pitching their companies to judges from Sephora, Soy Vay and T-Mobile to be crowned as standouts.
“We want to congratulate Retailigence, Vistar Media and Ad Adapted as our Startup Spotlight Series winners and all of the finalists for their compelling pitches,” said Kimberly Dunn, ad:tech. “These companies represent the innovation that’s driving what’s next in marketing, and how to better bridge the gap between startups and established brands.”
The Startup Spotlight Series featured innovations ranging from predictive analytics technologies to situational targeting and software testing. The startups were given seven minutes to present and three minutes to answer questions from a panel of judges. Session one included pitches from Intenta, Mentad, Retailigence and Vigure with judges from Soy Vay; session two featured adsnative, Predicative, Simple Relevance and Vistar Media with judges from Sephora and session three included Haystagg, ULTRA Testing, Ad Adapted and Kvantum with judges from T-Mobile.
In addition to bragging rights, winners are given the opportunity to partner with the brands who selected them to get valuable feedback on their product and potentially build a proof of concept. Winners Retailigence, Vistar Media and Ad Adapted commented on being honored as standout startups:
“Ad Adapted was really excited to be here and for the opportunity,” said Molly McFarland, founder and CMO, Ad Adapted. “We love finding brands like T-Mobile that share our mission of bringing value to app users versus disrupting them.”
"Vistar Media's unique expertise in physical world consumer behavior and cross-screen media strategy is a perfect fit for Sephora, a true innovator in the omnichannel experience," said Michael Provenzano, CEO and co-founder of Vistar Media. "We are honored to be selected by Sephora as this year's Startup Spotlight winner, and look forward to a fruitful partnership."
“For a company that offers in-store attribution that can be used by any media or rich media ad company, it's very difficult and expensive to get visibility and awareness with the wide and diverse advertising tech marketplace,” said Jeremy Geiger, CEO of Retailigence. “The opportunity that the ad:tech event provided to get such broad exposure to such a concentrated audience, in such a short period of time proved to be extremely unique and valuable.”
