French Online Marketplace Vendor, Mirakl, Sets Its Sight on U.S. Retailers; Opens Boston Office and Expands U.S. Executive Team

Mirakl co-founder, Adrien Nussenbaum, selected as U.S. CEO; opens Boston office to support demand from North American retailers for an online marketplace platform

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--()--Mirakl, the global leader in online marketplace platforms, today announced that Adrien Nussenbaum, co-founder, now serves as CEO of the company’s U.S. division. To further signify its U.S. presence, the company has expanded its executive team at the company’s new U.S. headquarters in Boston, announcing Kamal Kirpalani as vice president and general manager of North America.

The growth of the company’s executive team and U.S. headquarters is a direct result of the rising demand from North American retail customers who want a secure and highly profitable online marketplace solution. Mirakl sees online marketplaces as the future of e-commerce, and through its unique model, helps retailers worldwide expand their product catalog without inventory and logistics costs and restraints.

With more than 13 years of experience in business development, Nussenbaum is known for quickly establishing innovative organizations. Prior to working with Mirakl, Nussenbaum served as a senior associate with Deloitte where he advised global retail organizations on how to best navigate through company turnarounds and transformations. He also co-founded All Instant and SplitGames, both of which were successfully acquired. After the acquisition of SplitGames by Fnac.com, Nussenbaum co-headed FNAC MarketPlace, where he led the development of its professional sellers’ program and content syndication.

Kirpalani brings more than 15 years experience in business development for enterprise software. Prior to joining Mirakl, Kirpalani provided extensive senior leadership to SaaS companies such as Workday, TouchCommerce and Bazaarvoice. He also has a proven ability to manage and win complex sales initiatives that have resulted in multi-million dollar deals with Global 2000 companies.

“Major U.S. online retailers to date have shied away from their own online marketplaces, and instead have ceded both that platform and all of the revenue that goes with it to Amazon,” said Nussenbaum. “Throughout Europe, major retailers such as Galeries Lafayette, Darty and El Corte Ingles are leveraging Mirakl’s Marketplace Platform to deliver marketplaces that significantly increase online revenue without managing increased inventory. North America is catching on, and our pipeline is full of major online retailers that do not want to let Amazon have all their marketplace dollars.”
