Oshkosh Selected by the Kuwait Fire Service to Provide 11 Oshkosh Striker 6 X 6 ARFF Vehicles

OSHKOSH, Wis.--()--Oshkosh Airport Products Group, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) company, is supplying 11 Oshkosh® Striker® 6 X 6 aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) vehicles to the Kuwait Fire Service. Ten of the Oshkosh Striker 6 X 6 ARFF vehicles will be placed into service at Kuwait International Airport, while the eleventh apparatus is slated to serve the Kuwait Royal Fleet. The 11 apparatus will be delivered beginning in May 2016. In addition, two Oshkosh Striker 6 X 6 ARFF vehicles previously purchased were delivered to the Kuwait Fire Service in late May 2015.

The Oshkosh Striker 6 X 6 is among the most advanced and powerful ARFF vehicles in the world. The Striker features several proprietary systems and technologies (many of which are derived from Oshkosh Defense vehicles), including: Oshkosh TAK-4® fully independent suspension, transfer case, power divider, and other chassis components.

Each apparatus is powered by a Duetz TCD 670 bhp engine and includes a seven-speed Allison EVS-4800 transmission. The cab provides unmatched ergonomics and outward visibility. The firefighting system on the Kuwaiti vehicles includes a 12,500 L water tank, a 1750 L foam tank, and a 250 Kg dry chemical powder system.
