SGN Hires Activision and GameFly Veteran Ryh-Ming Poon as New Vice President of Communications

SGN Welcomes Seasoned Communications Expert, Expanding its Female Games Leadership

LOS ANGELES--()--SGN, a leading mobile games studio, has hired veteran communications executive, Ryh-Ming Poon, to serve as vice president of communications and oversee its fast-growing global communications and media relations program. Ms. Poon has served in senior roles at GameFly, Machinima and most notably, had overseen the global launches and national campaigns for Activision’s iconic Guitar Hero, Marvel movies, and Tony Hawk’s gaming franchises.

An adept and skilled communicator, Ms. Poon most recently served as vice president, public relations for GameFly, where she oversaw and executed communications strategies to launch their digital expansions and to make GameFly a household name for game rentals and family entertainment. Previously, she served as vice president, public relations for Machinima, the top-ranked online video entertainment network for gamers.

Before this role, she was the global public relations director for Activision’s Guitar Hero franchise, for which she built the in-house public relations team, managed multiple agencies and organized massive music, celebrity and press events. Prior to Guitar Hero, Ms. Poon ran media relations and strategic communications for a variety of other blockbuster franchises including Tony Hawk’s, Spider-Man, X-Men, Pitfall, Quake, and Star Trek, to name a few.
