PORT WASHINGTON, Wis.--()--Allen Edmonds, the U.S. premium men’s shoe manufacturer headquartered in Port Washington, Wis., announced that it will partner for the sixth consecutive year with Soles4Souls® Inc., a not-for-profit social organization that advances the fight against poverty through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. The two organizations will partner together in a national shoe drive from May 11 through May 31.

“Soles4Souls is proud to partner with a premier brand like Allen Edmonds,” said President and CEO of Soles4Souls, Buddy Teaster. “Even better, however, is working with all the great people at Allen Edmonds who really care about making a difference. This is our sixth year working together and the partnership keeps getting better. We really value the chance to be part of such a terrific team.”

Soles4Souls — which holds the highest rating from nonprofit watchdog Charity Navigator — will convert every used pair of shoes collected by Allen Edmonds into a value-added social currency to achieve positive change, both humanitarian and economic. Most of the reusable shoes will be distributed to microenterprise programs that create jobs in Haiti and other poor nations. The resulting revenue will help fund the free distribution of new shoes both in the U.S. and overseas. To date, Allen Edmonds with the help of its loyal customers has donated over 73,000 shoes to the Soles4Souls mission.

Allen Edmonds Retail Stores Serve as Local Shoe Depositories

Allen Edmonds retail stores across the nation are collecting shoes donated by customers for shipment to Soles4Souls. As a thank you, Allen Edmonds will be offering $35 off any regularly priced Allen Edmonds Goodyear welted shoes. No purchase is necessary to donate shoes, so consumers are encouraged to clean out their closets and donate a pair of the estimated 300 million pairs of shoes that lay idle in American closets.
