NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UBS Wealth Management Americas (WMA) today announced a strategic relationship with Mercer Investments, a global leader in institutional investment consulting. This relationship will provide the Investment Management Research team within UBS Financial Services with access to Mercer's 9,000 manager research opinions and performance analytics. UBS WMA private and institutional clients will benefit from the combination of Mercer's original, global research on investment strategies and the rigorous and timely high conviction recommendations of WMA's Investment Management Research team. As mutual funds, separately managed accounts and ETF strategies become increasingly complex and diverse, advancing WMA's manager research capabilities are a strategic focus for the firm. This relationship will significantly expand WMA's existing manager research capabilities, a central part of the investment advice that financial advisors provide to clients.
"We are completely revamping our Manager Research capabilities to better service our clients and financial advisors and to stay ahead of the rapidly growing and more complex investment environment. With this strategic relationship, UBS WMA advisors and clients can be confident that our manager and strategy research coverage will be one of the most comprehensive in the US Wealth Management Industry. By working with Mercer, the industry leader in institutional investment manager research, we will expand UBS WMA's coverage universe of investments while multiplying the number of strategies on our high conviction list," said Jeff Miller, Managing Director WMA Head of Advice and Platforms.
“By partnering with such an esteemed, global wealth management franchise such as UBS, we aim to further demonstrate our deep, longstanding commitment to providing wealth management services to our client base,” said Phil de Cristo, Global Head of Investments at Mercer.
Ray Joseph, WMA Head of Investment Management Research said, "Mercer's research will serve as valuable addition, augmenting the Investment Management Research team's existing investment process. Importantly, WMA advisors and clients will continue to have access to the insights of our growing in-house manager research team but will also now benefit from the breadth and depth of Mercer's global manager research offering across a full range of asset classes and product types."
