Attorney James Lowe Achieves Recertification in Civil Trial Law with the National Board of Trial Advocacy

CLEVELAND--()--The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is pleased to announce that James Lowe of the law firm of Lowe, Eklund, Wakefield Co., LPA has successfully achieved recertification as a civil trial advocate. Mr. Lowe has been a NBTA member in good standing for more than 20 years. The NBTA was formed out of a strong conviction that both the law profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney's experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.

James Lowe is part of a growing number of trial attorneys that have illustrated their commitment to bettering the legal profession by successfully completing a rigorous application process and providing the consumer of legal services with an objective measure by which to choose qualified and experienced legal counsel.

The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete includes: demonstration of substantial trial experience, submission of judicial and peer references to attest to their competency, attendance of continuing legal education courses and proof of good standing.

Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Board certifications are the only distinctions awarded by non-profit organizations. The NBTA as well as all board certifying organizations are committed to safeguarding the public’s ability to choose a good attorney.

James Lowe is a graduate of Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland, Ohio. He is licensed to practice in Ohio. He has successfully tried cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, resulting in numerous million-dollar verdicts. Lowe has recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients, including an $8 million settlement for a victim of a defective consumer product, a $10.4 million verdict in favor of a client paralyzed by a defective vehicle and other cases where he has championed plaintiffs affected by serious harm, injury and wrongful death.

In addition to NBTA, Lowe is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Board of Trial Advocates (Past President, Ohio Chapter), Master Bencher Emeritus, American Inns of Court, and the American Association for Justice (President’s Club). He was Past President, Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys and Past Chair, ATLA Products Liability Section. Lowe has authored multiple texts and treatises on product liability and motor vehicle defect cases, and frequently lectures on these subjects both in the United States and abroad. He also remains very active in the legal community as a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers, International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board certified, and Mr. Lowe is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification.
