Alaska’s Largest Risk Pool AMLJIA Selects PCIS ClaimsVISION for its 150+ Public Entity Members

16 week implementation will support the pool’s multi-line, multi-endorsement business

NEW YORK--()--PCIS, a proven and trusted provider of policy administration and claims solutions, today announced that Alaska’s largest risk pool, Alaska Municipal League Joint Insurance Association, Inc. (AMLJIA) has selected ClaimsVISION®, PCIS’ multi-line claims system.

ClaimsVISION will support the pool’s management of claims for its more than 150 public entity members. The diversity of AMLJIA’s members represents multi-line and multi-endorsement business for a wide range of insurance products including: liability, workers’ compensation, auto, and property.

After a comprehensive yearlong search and evaluation process, AMLJIA chose PCIS’ ClaimsVISION for the technology’s claims handling functionality as well as its ability to handle the complex needs of a diverse risk pool, with capabilities that include reinsurance tracking and reporting, policy aggregates, and deductibles.

ClaimsVISION’s ease of use and automation of labor-intensive processes will enhance the AMLJIA’s customer service capabilities, supporting the pool’s culture of transparency and personal touch in communications with members. Also cited as key to the decision was ClaimsVISION’s “No Touch” FROI/SROI EDI reporting combined with PCIS’ exemplary record of delivery and client service.

Commenting on the selection of ClaimsVISION and PCIS, Kevin Smith, Executive Director of the AMLJIA, said, “We did our due diligence to ensure we were choosing the best system, as well as a vendor we felt confident would work with us as a true partner rather than treating us as though we were just a number. Without question, ClaimsVISION and PCIS came out on top as the ideal combination of solution and vendor organization.”

Smith continued, “Another important consideration in our decision was the nature of doing business in Alaska. Many of our members are off the grid in remote locations, so it was imperative that we host the solution on-premise in Alaska. Once again, PCIS stepped up to the occasion with its ability to provide the system, usually delivered via software as a service, as an on-premise offering -- still with the same high level of support and service.”

Anticipated benefits from the new PCIS ClaimsVISION environment include:

  • Optimization of AMLJIA processes, including fully automated FROI/SROI EDI reporting;
  • An expedited workflow enabled by an intuitive user interface and a high quality user and customer experience;
  • Automation of external reporting processes;
  • The ability to easily handle complex reinsurance reports; and,
  • Freeing up AMLJIA resources to focus more time and attention on servicing pool member entities.

AMLJIA’s Claims Manager, Johanna Grasso, commented on the system’s capabilities, saying, “We were very impressed with the system’s depth of capabilities. One example is ClaimsVISION’s FROI/SROI support. We recently completed a laborious six month project implementing a FROI/SROI module with our former vendor which ultimately requires a lot of manual intervention when deciding if a claim is SROI reportable and loading files back and forth over FTP. ClaimsVISION entirely automates this process – so much so, it was almost too good to believe. That capability alone will be a huge productivity gain for us.”

Georgette Loizou, PCIS Executive Vice President, said, “We are very excited to announce AMLJIA as our first customer in Alaska. This is a significant win for us, especially given the extensive evaluation and selection process AMLJIA underwent to make its decision. We are very proud of our ClaimsVISION solution and the PCIS team, but it is always gratifying when the quality of our product and people is validated. We look forward to a successful implementation and to working with the AMLJIA team to meet the aggressive 16 weeks to production timeline.”
