MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC) today announced ec-H2O NanoClean™, the next generation of the successful, sustainable cleaning technology ec-H2O™. This next generation solution offers the same great benefits of the original and now cleans better, cleans more soils, and is effective in more applications. Tennant Company is a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing solutions that help create a cleaner, safer, healthier world.
Proprietary ec-H2O technology by Tennant Company is a globally well-adopted cleaning technology introduced in 2008 and commercialized on a family of automated floor scrubbing machines. Since then, advances in nanobubble technology led to ec-H2O NanoClean, the next generation of Tennant’s innovative cleaning technologies. The name NanoClean refers to the creation of nano-scale bubbles that are an important part of the cleaning mechanism.
Like the original ec-H2O, ec-H2O NanoClean technology electrically converts water into an innovative cleaning solution that cleans effectively, saves money and reduces environmental impact compared to daily floor cleaning chemicals. This converted water is created by an on-board e-cell that generates millions of microscopic bubbles—nanobubbles—per milliliter of solution. These nanobubbles then promote the cleaning efficacy of the solution.
Bulk nanobubbles may be defined as nanoscopic gaseous domains less than 1000 nanometers in diameter. They are spherical in shape, mobile and suspended in an aqueous environment/solution at ambient temperatures. Studies by independent parties have determined that they are gas-filled and stable for minutes to hours. Tennant and third-party scientists have demonstrated in the lab a direct connection between nanobubbles and cleaning efficacy which Tennant has translated into improved cleaning performance in customer environments. Experiences from customers using ec-H2O NanoClean in their environments are documented at NanoClean Customer Testimonials.
“There are thousands of nanobubble patents issued globally,” according to Mark Citsay, Tennant Company’s Chief Scientist. “When we first explored how nanobubbles might relate to cleaning technology, we found that nanobubble technology is already commercialized in numerous applications even as scientific understanding of nanobubbles continues to evolve. Among these applications are contaminant removal during silicon wafer cleaning, removal of salt build-up on bridges, and municipal water treatment,” Citsay added. ”Tennant Company has worked closely with leaders in this discipline to be the first company to correlate the presence of bulk nanobubbles with floor cleaning performance.”
“We believe our finding that nanobubble technology correlates to cleaning performance is groundbreaking science for our customers and for the advancement of our industry. With more than 65,000 ec-H2O-equipped machines sold to more than 7,500 customers, we know ec-H2O works,” said Chris Killingstad, President and CEO of Tennant Company. “We’re thrilled to build on this success with ec-H2O NanoClean, continuing the trend of Tennant bringing innovative technology and solutions to help our customers address their toughest cleaning challenges.”
The ec-H2O NanoClean technology is currently available on the Tennant T300 and Nobles SS300 and will soon be available on Tennant Company’s full line of commercial scrubbers.
