CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--TrustHouse Services Group today announces the appointment of Brian Poplin, DHA, FACHE, as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Poplin comes to TrustHouse most recently from Medical Staffing Network Healthcare, LLC, where he has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since April 2013. The dynamic leader was previously with Aramark Healthcare Technologies for 19 years, where he was an integral part of the team that created a market-leading technology services company within the healthcare sector.

TrustHouse is the Charlotte, N.C.-based parent company for a group of regional foodservice businesses specializing in the provision of on-site contract foodservices primarily in the healthcare, education and corrections sectors.

Michael J. Bailey, who co-founded the company along with partners Gryphon Investors, and members of the senior management team, will remain Chairman. Today, Bailey and his management team are partnered with Elior, the Paris-based global contract catering company, and are poised for TrustHouse’s next phase of strategic growth.

“Brian has the talent, energy and experience that TrustHouse deserves,” Bailey said. “I am confident that, with him as a leader, we will take TrustHouse to an unprecedented level of success. He has more than 24 years of successful progression in management with a strong emphasis on achieving exemplary outcomes. He is an expert in change management, strategic planning, team development, customer relations, and operational execution.

“Brian understands that service is our focus, client and customer satisfaction are among our highest goals, and local, responsive management is the key to our success,” Bailey added. “Our emphasis on the best people providing the best services will remain unchanged. In fact, it is our excellent quality, accessible management and quick resolutions that have differentiated TrustHouse across the country.”

The portfolio of regional companies that comprise TrustHouse employs 7,200 people who provide services at more than 700 client locations, across 45 states, serving over 300,000 meals every day. Currently, the companies include:

  • Aladdin Food Management Services, LLC
  • AmeriServe Food Management Services
  • A'viands Food & Services Management
  • Consolidated Food Management
  • Fitz Vogt & Associates, Ltd.
  • Lindley Food Service
  • Summit Food Services, LLC
  • Valley Services Inc.

With combined annual sales of approximately $500 million, TrustHouse is among the top six contract food service companies in North America.

“TrustHouse is on the cusp of an amazing opportunity,” said Dr. Poplin. “I am committed to the vision that Michael Bailey has set forth and I look forward to working side-by-side with him in the coming years. The strategy to create a quality-driven middle market company with high-touch, best-in-class services has succeeded because of Michael’s sound business model with an intense focus on organic and strategic growth.”

Dr. Poplin is a proven leader who was influential in building high-performance teams that advanced Aramark’s brand in the healthcare services industry, driving annual revenues exceeding $500 million. At Medical Staffing Network Healthcare, he optimized performance by improving access to qualified caregivers and innovative workforce solutions across the country.

“The time is right in the food service industry for regional providers to offer high-level services, especially in the senior market,” Bailey added. “We have a commitment to this senior nutritional market as 10,000 people each day turn 65. These seniors are looking for alternative living environments and providing daily meals is a core component of what we do. Our partnership with local agencies to provide innovative delivery solutions allows more people to be served.”

“Whether it’s senior nutrition, regional healthcare, education, or correctional facilities, no one in the country has the vision to serve customers as well as TrustHouse,” Dr. Poplin added. “I’m excited to work with Michael and the management team on the company’s growth that will extend our value proposition and provide new opportunities to demonstrate TrustHouse’s signature approach.”

Dr. Poplin holds a doctorate in health administration and policy from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, a Master of Science in business management, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
