Electronic Signature and Records Association Welcomes Four New Members, Hears from CFPB During Member Meeting

Growing organization unites longstanding and new members to share business cases, discuss public policy updates around e-signatures and records

WASHINGTON--()--The Electronic Signature and Records Association (ESRA), the premier trade association representing electronic signature adopters and providers, recently welcomed four additional members, including SIGNiX, Springleaf Financial Services, NotaryCam and DocVerify. These new members were among many organizations that recently attended the ESRA’s recent Member Meeting, which featured a guest presentation from the CFPB.

Each of ESRA’s newest members exemplifies the organization’s mission to globally advocate the use of electronic signatures and records. Springleaf Financial Services uses electronic signatures and records to accelerate the personal and auto lending processes; NotaryCam’s technology allows users to electronically sign documents with a live notary public in minutes as opposed to days. Additionally, SIGNiX’s digital signature solution enables businesses to complete online documents, and DocVerify’s digital document verification solution proves the integrity of digital documents.

“As electronic signatures and records continue to play a greater role in Springleaf's day-to-day operations, we have become acutely aware of the need for legislators, regulatory agencies and the industry at large to be better educated on the benefits and existing legal framework for this technology,” explained Adam Barton, attorney for Springleaf Financial. “Springleaf is excited to be part of an organization that endeavors to address this need.”

These recently added members also attended ESRA’s Winter Member Meeting, hosted at the Experian Headquarters in Costa Mesa, Calif. on Feb. 25, to discuss the latest legislation as well as new trends in electronic signatures. During the meeting, ESRA board members and other industry experts provided regulatory updates, international insights and public policy changes impacting the various industries as it relates to electronic signatures and records. Additionally, the group discussed the progress of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) e-Closing Mortgage Pilot, which kicked off this January.

“It is important for us to unite throughout the year and provide educational resources to our members,” said Jeff Knott, 2015 ESRA chairman and assistant vice president of Equifax. “Our association is dedicated to creating a forum for member organizations to discuss the latest developments, trends and legislation surrounding electronic signatures and records. This was our most widely attended member meeting to date, which is a testament to the various emerging as well as ongoing efforts spanning domestic and international e-signed record topics.”

The association’s next event will be a member-only meeting in August of 2015. For more information or to join ESRA, visit www.esignrecords.org.
