The Gehr Group Appoints David Lifschitz as CEO; Mark Goldman as COO

LOS ANGELES--()--The Gehr Group (www.gehr.com) announced the appointment of David Lifschitz as Chief Executive Officer and Mark Goldman as Chief Operating Officer effective March 1, 2015. Mr. Lifschitz will remain the group’s CFO and Mr. Goldman will remain the group’s Chief Counsel.

These appointments come in the wake of the untimely death of Norbert Gehr, Chairman and CEO of The Gehr Group, on February 28, 2015. Mr. Lifschitz served as the group’s President and CFO for the past five years, and Mr. Goldman served as the group’s Chief Counsel for the past four years.

“I am very fortunate to have very capable, competent executives who help run my companies,” said Norbert Gehr in an interview for a legacy documentary, shortly before his death.

“These appointments are part of a well-crafted succession plan designed to provide business continuity for the group and secure Norbert Gehr’s legacy,” said Lifschitz. “We now have a sacred duty to continue our success and grow our businesses in accordance with our founder’s vision.”

“All the key executives in our organization started out with Norbert Gehr in a different capacity and just wanted to be here,” said Goldman. “We are all humbled by the trust that Norbert Gehr placed in our ability to make his dream a reality.”

David Lifschitz joined The Gehr Group in 1995 as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. In 2007 Mr. Lifschitz was named Executive Vice President and in 2010 he became the Group’s Chief Operating Officer and, shortly thereafter, he was appointed as President. Prior to joining The Gehr Group, Mr. Lifschitz spent 10 years at the Enterprise Group of Arthur Andersen, advising businesses in the entertainment, broadcasting, manufacturing, publishing, high-tech, wholesale distribution and retail industries. David is a CPA and holds an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Southern California and a BA degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Mark Goldman joined The Gehr Group in 2010 as Executive Vice President and Chief Counsel, after serving as the group’s corporate counsel for over thirty years. Prior to joining The Gehr Group, Mr. Goldman was in-house counsel for Mapleton Investments, and before that he was a senior partner at Goldman & Kagon Law Corporation, a premiere firm specializing in entertainment and family law practice. The firm gained notoriety in 1979-1981 as it made an important contribution to palimony law with the Marvin vs. Marvin case. Mr. Goldman holds a J.D. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and is a member of the California Bar Association.
