BARCELONA, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Building on the successful collaboration that ZTE and Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL) have already established in creating world-class LTE base station solutions, ZTE has now selected Freescale's QorIQ Qonverge B4860 baseband system-on-chip (SoC) for its next-generation LTE-Advanced macro base stations. The B4860 SoC enables top wireless OEMs and mobile operators to address the demand for increased user bandwidth at lower cost as the industry moves to 4G mobile broadband systems.
ZTE, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, will use Freescale’s advanced B4860 SoC to build high performance, high capacity base stations with increased user bandwidth at lower cost and power. The B4860 processor is a proven macro cell base station performance leader, providing exceptional throughput and user capacity. The device integrates high performance, fully programmable cores and sophisticated offload acceleration technology, while enabling customer differentiation via flexible support for OEMs’ most innovative algorithms and features. In addition, B4860 customers can dramatically streamline development and speed time to market with a full suite of optimizing, best-in-class development tools.
