NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Persado today announced it has hired digital marketing executive David Atlas to serve as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer. The management team expansion will help meet demand for their persuasion automation platform, a revolutionary new approach to generating the copy used in marketing messages, fundraising appeals and compliance communications that eschews the guesswork of traditional copywriting in favor of leveraging actual language data.
“Persado has created an entirely new technology category that uses math and science to generate the optimal copy for communications intended to drive a specific response,” said Alex Vratskides, CEO and Co-founder of Persado. “David’s experience launching innovative products in the digital marketing and software space gives him great perspective on how to manage this growth. He understands how to tell this story in a way that resonates with customers, partners and industry observers.”
Atlas most recently led a successful market strategy consulting practice, developing go to market and brand strategy for clients in digital marketing, sharing economy, and digital health. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing for cross-channel marketing leader StrongView, shepherding its 2013 rebrand and launching the company’s much acclaimed Present Tense Marketing strategy. Before that, Atlas was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Goodmail Systems, maker of the innovative CertifiedEmail suite of inbox-based advertising and ecommerce products.
“What first drew me to Persado was the radical inventiveness of the company’s solution, the sheer innovation of using computers to write copy that outperformed what the industry’s best copywriters were coming up with by two, three or four times,” said Atlas. “Just over two years old, they had scores of world-leading brand customers. Then, working with them first as a client, I saw that their technology could be applied not just to digital marketing, but to so many industries, really any area where communications intended to drive action were being written – persuading patients to abide by doctor’s orders, encouraging people to donate to charities, even driving citizens to vote or abide by public laws and regulations. People overuse the world ‘platform’ nowadays, but Persado’s is genuinely a fundamental technology that disrupts multiple industries.”
Atlas joins Persado at a particularly auspicious time. In January the company announced its Series B funding, led by StarVest Partners, with participation from new investors Citi Ventures, American Express Ventures and prior investor Bain Capital Ventures. The company saw a profound acceleration in customer uptake in 2014, expanding enterprise customers 300%, and has recently won several industry awards.
