RADNOR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Qlik®, (NASDAQ: QLIK), a leader in data discovery, today announced that Mission Health, recognized as one of the Top 15 Health Systems in the U.S. by Truven Health Analytics, has signed a partnership agreement to significantly extend its use of Qlik. With this purchase, Mission will be leveraging both QlikView® and Qlik® Sense to address the need for guided analytics and self-service visualization across the organization.
As part of a strategic initiative to improve the health of its patient population, Mission seeks to transform the way it uses both technology and data. The health system has initiated a new data-driven approach to patient care with a focus on leveraging data analysis to discern the most effective and cost-efficient care for the individual patient. To be successful, Mission must track and address everything from changes in community needs and factors that contribute to quality care to regional demographics and resources across the health system.
Mission first began using QlikView with select applications for the operating rooms, its Accountable Care Organization, and to track other key performance indicators (KPIs) across the health system. Based on the project’s rapid success, Mission decided to expand the use of Qlik company-wide, all within months of the initial deployment. Qlik now serves as the organizational standard for visual analytics across Mission’s network of six hospitals, outpatient and surgery centers, and home health providers that are spread throughout 18 counties in western North Carolina. By integrating with the organization’s enterprise data warehouse from Health Catalyst, Qlik helps Mission’s multi-disciplinary teams of physicians, nurses, IT experts, administrators, and finance experts uncover clinical and operational insights from terabytes of raw data.
“In the healthcare industry – technology has become both a disruptive and transformational force. Those health systems that hope to deliver the best quality and cost of care must leverage their vast pools of data to help identify new best practices and quickly implement solutions,” said Sulaiman H. Sulaiman, Mission senior vice president and Chief Information Officer. “Qlik provides us with the tools we need to explore our data and uncover the key insights that enable us to better serve the patients of western North Carolina and improve our delivery of value-based care.”
"Like many of our customers in the healthcare space, Mission was faced with a huge opportunity. By leveraging the data discovery offerings from Qlik they can quickly and easily help care providers unlock invaluable discoveries from their data,” said Brad Copeland, Vice President, Enterprise Healthcare, North America, Sales, Qlik. “By extending our work with Mission Health we will ensure individuals across the network have access to the information they need to explore theories, prove hypotheses, or discover new trends and transform the way they provide care.”
