CARMEL, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Indiana Ballet Conservatory (IBC) announces that former Bolshoi Ballet Grigorovich dancer and Internationally-recognized Master Teacher & Coach, Alexei Moskalenko, has been named the Director of Indiana Ballet Conservatory’s Day Program for Pre-Professional students. Mr. Moskalenko will also serve as a full-time Master Teacher & Coach at IBC.

A former Bolshoi Ballet dancer, Mr. Moskalenko also has 20+ years of teaching and leadership experience. Upon his arrival in the United States in 1992 he was immediately hired as a Principal Dancer with the Memphis Ballet and continued to dance as a Guest Dancer with leading ballet companies across the U.S.
Within 2 years of living in Memphis, TN, he saw a need in his local community and founded the reputable American School of Russian Ballet in 1994. Having served as the Founder and Artistic Director until 2001, he then accepted the distinguished position of the New York Director of Rehearsals, Master Teacher, Judge, and Tour Director for the world’s largest ballet scholarship competition program – the Youth America Grand Prix. Mr. Moskalenko has the honor of continuing in this capacity and will be in his 14th year serving in this role. In 2008, Mr. Moskalenko became the Director of the Markell School of Dance and held that position until moving to Central Indiana. In 2013, Mr. Moskalenko, along with Alyona Yakovleva-Randall and Tatiana Pali, coached Miko Fogarty for the prestigious Moscow International Ballet Competition where she won the gold medal in the Junior category.
Throughout his career, Mr. Moskalenko has continually coached and choreographed for student and professional dancers at numerous institutions and has earned a reputation as one of the leading Master Teachers and Coaches in the U.S. as well as abroad. He has extensive experience teaching classical ballet, technique, pointe technique, men’s ballet technique, variations, pas de deux, contemporary dance, character dance, and choreography. He is committed to delivering excellence in dance training and education through the Russian Vaganova Method while also adapting to each student’s individual needs and abilities. Mr. Moskalenko has a proven record in advising and guiding students through career options and choices, and has mentored students who have continued their dance training at colleges, universities, and professional companies.
Indiana Ballet Conservatory
Under the Directorship of Alyona Yakovleva-Randall, IBC is a pre-professional ballet school with a national and international reach. Training students from Japan, Switzerland, California, Texas, and the Midwest, IBC’s world-renowned faculty welcomed over 30 pre-professional students from around the world this summer to join nearly 200 local students to train in IBC’s very intensive summer programs. The school and its students have received numerous awards, scholarships, grants, and public acclaim because of the level of training offered.
IBC is also known as a premier training ground for young gentlemen, as it has one of the largest gentlemen’s programs in the Midwest. The success of this program is in large part due to two dedicated gentlemen faculty members who train these young men specifically in gentlemen’s technique and gentlemen’s variations.

IBC’s Pre-Professional Day Program
Offering an intense level of training with some of the most well known and respected ballet instructors, this program is dedicated to elevating the technique and artistry of serious-minded dance students from across the United States and internationally who strive to have a professional career in ballet and dance.
Students are invited into the program by audition only and often relocate with their families or live with Host Families in the Central Indiana area. These students pursue alternative academic options that allow them to immerse themselves in ballet curriculum each day and many evenings, equaling a minimum of 35 hours per week.
