Gusto Debuts New Platform to Help Businesses Quickly Create Custom Email Apps with Features Specific to their Employees’ Needs

Any business can now create a custom-built email app either by using Gusto’s new public API or choosing to have Gusto develop an enterprise-class email solution to meet its exact specifications.

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Every business uses mobile email, cloud storage and private sharing a different way. Gusto, a company focused on simplifying our digital lives, today announced a first-of-its-kind platform that enables businesses to quickly develop purpose-built email apps with unique, customizable features to meet their employees’ unique needs.

Backed by a total of $3.5 million in financing to date, Gusto now empowers businesses to create custom-built email apps either by using the company’s new public API, or choosing to have Gusto develop an enterprise-class email, cloud storage and secure sharing solution to meet its exact specifications.

Gusto’s new platform enables any business to quickly develop purpose-built email apps with unique, customizable features, including:

  • Custom Email Rules - Employees can set custom rules that can be as simple as sending an email to a folder, or as complex as linking an email to an object in another application, like Evernote, Salesforce.com or a custom internal system.
  • Unique Swipe Actions - Businesses can assign swipe actions that support and streamline the tasks and processes that employees use most. Custom swipe actions can enable employees to assign tasks, open tickets, schedule meetings and more, straight from their mobile inbox.
  • Smart Notifications - Some emails are a higher priority than others. Businesses can set notification schedules, custom sounds and alarms, to ensure employees do not miss business-critical emails.
  • Secure File Sharing - Private pages provide employees a secure place to share files and photos from cloud services like Dropbox, use group chat, and collaborate in shared workspaces, all within one app.

More than 100 billion business-related emails are sent and received every day. This trend is expected to grow with business emails accounting for more than 132 billion emails sent and received per day by the end of 2017.

“Email remains the go-to form of communication in the business world, but every business has a different set of needs when it comes to helping employees manage their inbox,” said Gusto CEO Shawn Schwegman. “With Gusto, businesses can build a custom email solution that works for them, rather than forcing employees to use a one-size-fits-all app.”

Gusto is available for both iPhone and web, and recently launched support for iPad. Gusto supports multiple email accounts through Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo! Mail, AOL, iCloud and IMAP, as well as social accounts Facebook and Instagram. The newest version of Gusto introduces support for Flickr and cloud storage provider Dropbox.

Gusto is now accepting requests to develop enterprise-class email solutions. For more information on getting started, visit http://www.gustoemail.com/gusto-for-business/.

The free version of the Gusto email app is available now in the iTunes App Store on iPhone and iPad, or from any web browser at http://withgusto.me.
