LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Eye Tribe, a 2015 CES Innovation Awards winner and leading innovator in OEM eye tracking software solutions, today announced that it is launching the world’s first Android eye tracking software development kit at the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas. With this SDK, The Eye Tribe is enabling OEMs and developers on the Android platform to create new experiences and products for the consumer market.
During the show, which runs Jan. 6-9, The Eye Tribe will demonstrate its Eye Tracking SDK for Android that provides a first step toward integration of robust, affordable eye tracking into mobile devices. In addition, the company will introduce its new and highly accurate TV Tracker and showcase an exciting project with the LEGO Group that allows users to build their favorite LEGO® sets with eye tracking. Visit The Eye Tribe at CES 2015 at the Sands (booth #72040) and Jan. 6 at ShowStoppers (table #A46).
“We’re extremely excited to be back at CES and to show how quickly we’ve advanced our products for mobile form factors and into new areas like LCD TVs and cloud-based analytics,” said Sune Alstrup Johansen, CEO of The Eye Tribe. “With our solution, OEMs can fast-track integration of real eye tracking. We want to bust the myth that it is an expensive and complicated affair.”
The Eye Tribe’s software solution is designed intentionally for integration and is based on industry standards (MIPI, I2C, USB). The Eye Tribe eye tracking software now offers support for Android, Windows and OS/X in addition to hardware reference designs for popular form factors. Because The Eye Tribe software relies only on standard affordable components that are easily integrated into next-generation devices, the company is able to help OEMs fast-track strategies to move new products to mass-market consumers featuring robust eye tracking functions at affordable prices.
Yesterday at CES Unveiled, The Eye Tribe’s $99 eye tracker was recognized as a Best of Innovation Honoree and earned Honoree status in three other Innovation Award categories. The company was also recently selected as a Top 25 Finalist in the Extreme Tech Challenge with Sir Richard Branson as a judge.
The following is a brief overview of some of the eye tracking innovations that The Eye Tribe will feature in its booth during CES 2015:

The Android-compatible SDK is available for $99 (includes an Eye Tribe Tracker). For more information on supported devices and purchasing, visit www.theeyetribe.com.
