NEW YORK--()--Creative Schemes Entertainment’s multi-award-winning documentary Roll Out, Cowboy, which has charmed festival audiences across North America, is now available on digital video-on-demand.

Set against the backdrop of the 2008 presidential campaign and the Great Recession, Roll Out, Cowboy follows traveling troubadour Chris “Sandman” Sand, “The Rappin’ Cowboy,” on an American West musical tour. As the tour makes its way through small towns reeling from political changes, Sandman grapples with his own ups and downs. From band break-ups and local groupies to a brief commercial truck-driving stint, Sandman’s story is the struggle of an artist trying to make a buck. In a tough economy, can your American dream still carry a tune?

Creative Schemes partnered with Film Break to facilitate the release on six VOD platforms: Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, PlayStation, VUDU, Xbox and YouTube Movies.

Roll Out, Cowboy screened at over 35 worldwide festivals. It won Best Documentary at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival, Arizona Underground Film Festival, DocuFest Atlanta, Flint Film Festival, Edmonton International Film Festival, and won a Gold Medal for Excellence at the Park City Music Film Festival. The film was also nominated for Best Documentary at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. In April 2012, it was released on DVD.

The film has “both a beating heart and a brain, approaching the caliber of genre standouts like Spellbound,” according to The A.V. Club. Jonathan Miller of WBEZ Chicago calls Roll Out, Cowboy a portrait of the artist as a pure product of America” and describes Sand as “a fresh sonic breeze blowing in off the Great Plains.”
