DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Anthelio Healthcare Solutions, the largest independent provider of technology and services to hospitals, physician practice groups and other healthcare providers, today announced the appointment of Charles M. "Chick" Young to its Board of Directors. Chick has strong ties to Anthelio, having co-founded the original company PHNS in 1999 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until September 2008. A pioneer in the information technology revolution, he was one of the first in the field to recognize that outsourcing could extend state-of-the-art information technology, talent and resources to healthcare organizations, allowing them to concentrate on their core business activities while increasing efficiencies and reducing operational costs.
“We are extremely honored and excited to have Chick Young return to Anthelio,” said Asif Ahmad, CEO, Anthelio Healthcare Solutions. “While the company continues to thrive from the path set when Chick was at the helm, his spirit of innovation, drive and customer satisfaction remain at the heart of Anthelio. Chick’s in-depth knowledge of IT outsourcing, unique ability to think outside the box, and historical perspective of Anthelio’s operations will be invaluable as we continue to develop information technology solutions to help our customers deal with today’s challenging healthcare landscape,” he concluded.
Chick brings decades of business and information technology outsourcing experience to Anthelio. Early in his career, he worked in banking where he was instrumental in the design, development and marketing of Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) software. Within the information technology industry, Chick was among the first to recognize the potential for outsourcing technology services. As a partner in Information Processing Corporation, he pioneered and co-authored a new ATM application that revolutionized the banking industry by creating new efficiencies through the consolidation of operations. In the 1980s, he and his partners sold the company to MTech, which became the largest third-party financial institution processor in the world. Utilizing his in-depth understanding of outsourcing, Chick then co-founded Affiliated Computer Services, which eventually went public and became part of Xerox.
Looking for the next frontier in IT outsourcing, Chick soon realized that many of the processes he pioneered in banking could bring new efficiencies and cost savings to the healthcare industry, which was hindered by budget constraints, reimbursement reductions and obsolete IT practices. In 1999, after two years of research and planning, he co-founded Provider Healthnet Services―which eventually became Anthelio Healthcare Solutions Inc.―with the goal of reducing the cost of managing clinical information while improving accuracy, performance and accessibility. Utilizing Chick’s highly sophisticated outsourcing capabilities, the company soon became the leading independent provider of healthcare information technology and business process solutions in the industry, a position it still holds today.
“As a co-founder of Anthelio, it is rewarding to return to the company and see the dramatic progress that has occurred,” said Chick Young. “I look forward to contributing my expertise and ideas to help ensure Anthelio’s ongoing success as the leader in healthcare technology solutions,” he noted.
