MIAMI BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zudy announced today the finalization of $7.5 Million in funding from Miami Stuff, LLC. Zudy, a visionary enterprise platform software company is building a breakthrough no-code development environment. Zudy’s platform will enable enterprises to build highly configurable mobile and web applications in just days rather than months. Zudy, headquartered in Miami Beach, will use the funds for key hires, R&D and the build out of its partner program.
Thomas R. Kennedy, Jr. , Who previously founded BackOffice Associates, will lead the development effort. Mr. Kennedy has been building rapid application development platforms for Fortune 500 companies since 1979. While at BackOffice, he patented a SQL rendering platform CranSoft™ that enabled extensive advancement for Data Migration and Data Governance technologies in large legacy ERP environments. BackOffice Associates experienced exponential growth and profitability during his tenure. In early 2008, Mr. Kennedy sold an initial 15% stake of BackOffice to Goldman Sachs private equity. He sold the remaining interest to a group led by Goldman Sachs for a $340 million valuation at the end of 2012.
Mr. Kennedy recognized the problems faced by CIO’s of Fortune 500 and large enterprises. Challenged by the cost and time of building hundreds of applications that tie together multiple platforms, CIO’s struggle to meet the demand. With the advent of advanced cloud technologies and platforms, companies continue to spend significant budget to answer up to the BYOD movement and accomplish visibility and accessibility across systems on all devices. Zudy will enhance the ability of large Enterprises to quickly gain visibility to key systems and develop departmental solutions that mobilize and innovate otherwise complex and intricate legacy systems. The platform will work seamlessly with cloud-based systems such as SalesForce, WorkDay, SuccessFactors and Microsoft Dynamics. In addition the platform will work with on-premise relational database management systems (RDBMS) including SQL, Oracle, IBM and SAP Hana as well as NoSQL systems like Cassandra.
“Enterprises must deal with the backlog of application requests. With the proliferation of devices and the need to mobilize the Enterprise while still embracing the Web, Zudy will evolve application development eliminating the need to develop twice,” said Tom Kennedy, co-founder and CTO of Zudy. “Enterprises still use outdated development strategies and curly bracket languages to cobble together solutions for the complicated world of mobile and web. It’s time to stop coding and start creating value. Zudy’s mission is to change attitudes about application development and begin to liberate innovation within the enterprise.”
Zudy’s platform addresses the complexity of enterprise application development delivering an environment that turns web and mobile into one. Zudy will allow enterprises to dramatically increase the number of new applications from an average of less than ten to more than 50 per year. The company will launch the first public release of its platform in Q1 2015.
