ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, introduced the “Saif bin Zayed Award for Overseas Scholarship Students”. The award was announced on Friday during the 5th Annual UAE Students Forum in the USA that is hosted by the UAE Embassy in Washington under the slogan “Your Assistant, My Homeland”.
In his pre-recorded address to the students, H.H Sheikh Saif said: “You are the pillars of the future and our hope for a better tomorrow. Your country and leadership rely on you.”
In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture Bureau, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said: “Launching the award reflects the keen interest of H.H Sheikh Saif in encouraging research studies among the various community segments, and in contributing to the development of institutional work in the UAE.”
The award consists of the National Representation Award and the Innovative Ideas Award. The National Representation Award will be offered to the top three distinguished students who best represent the UAE and reflect the Emirati identity through respecting the laws and regulations of their educational entity, participation in community-based activities and environmental volunteer work, and through excelling in academic and scientific fields.
The Innovative Ideas Award will be granted to students who propose an idea that is simple, applicable, innovative, achieves a positive impact on society, and contributes to achieving the overall objectives of the UAE and the Ministry of Interior.
All scholarship students who have been studying abroad for at least six months are eligible to apply for the award.
Winners will receive remunerative rewards alongside the Excellence Badge and the H.H Saif bin Zayed Awards Shield.
