WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Clear Government Solutions (CGS) today announced that its Federal Cloud offering, FedGRID, has been awarded a FedRAMP JAB P-ATO. This is the highest FedRAMP authorization requiring review and approval at each stage of the process by teams from the CIOs of the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the General Services Administration (GSA). CGS’ authorization can be leveraged government-wide across all agencies.
In order to achieve this milestone, CGS was assessed by Lunarline as its FedRAMP accredited 3rd Party Assessment Organization (3PAO). Additionally, CGS was supported in the effort by Coalfire as a consultant who provided documentation compliance review.
“It was a privilege to have our FedGRID cloud architecture assessed by IT and Cloud experts from the Joint Authorization Board including the DoD, DHS and GSA. FedRAMP is a well-run program with a formalized process that is defining cloud security and implementing an accreditation model not only for the federal government but defining it for the entire Cloud industry.” said Christopher Grady, President of Clear Government Solutions, Inc., who led the technology team through the process. “CGS has demonstrated that it meets the requisite set of security requirements and controls to be eligible to host government data across all agencies government-wide. I am exceptionally proud of the efforts of the entire team – the CGS employees, and our federal and industry partners.”
As a holder of both the government-wide FedRAMP JAB P-ATO certification for its FedGRID Cloud and a Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) with its GSA IaaS BPA, CGS delivers a secure, highly efficient and cost effective method for government agencies to acquire, connect to, consume and burst Cloud infrastructure via FedGRID.
“CGS’ cloud architecture is based on security guidance from DISA’s Rapid Access Computing Environment (RACE), project, the DoD’s initial foray into cloud computing.” said Mr. Henry J. Sienkiewicz, former CIO of DISA, who provided guidance to the technology team “What I tried to accomplish at DISA with RACE, this team has consumed, evolved and accomplished.”
Additionally, FedGRID was built to meet the cost saving objectives of the Cloud First Policy through a true-multi-tenant cloud capability while also having the flexibility to address hybrid cloud environments tailored very specifically to each agency’s needs and preferences, all of which meet FedRAMP requirements.
Other notable and unique attributes that provide seamless integration and transition include:
- HSPD-12 Compliance: Fully integrated HSPD-12 compliant PIV authentication.
- Rich Connectivity: Location in two of the largest Internet Exchange Points in the world, delivering direct-to-carrier connectivity to hundreds of carriers for optimal traffic routing with agencies.
- Dedicated Fiber and Government TIC: The ability to accept dedicated fiber or a government Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) directly to FedGRID.
- Federally Compliant Co-Location: Co-location of federal infrastructure outside the FedGRID authorization boundary via dedicated fiber.
The CGS FedGRID Cloud is a Federal Government Community Cloud and does not service entities outside of the U.S. Federal Government.
