NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MetaFlows, Inc., a leader in advanced, behavioral network security monitoring, today announced the deployment of its 10 Gbps solution in support of the SC Conference, SC14.
Highlighting the most original and fascinating scientific and technical applications from around the world, SC14 will once again bring together the HPC community - an unprecedented array of scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, programmers, system administrators, and developers.
SC14's SCinet Network Operation Center will use the MetaFlows security system (MSS) as one of the key operational components in securing the conference’s leading-edge network infrastructure. MetaFlows' innovative network antivirus, sandboxing and real time behavioral analysis is deployed as a 64-core 10 Gbps appliance capable of sustaining deep-packet inspection and real time multi-session correlation up 5 Gbps.
Traditional cyber-security defenses are asymmetric: the attackers collaborate globally while security vendors struggle independently. MetaFlows disrupts this trend by using multiple, collaborative network intelligence sources at once to detect security issues (SourceFire, Emerging Threats, Virus Total, OSSEC, Nessus, Mod_security, Cuckoo, Yara, etc).
Unlike perimeter security systems, the MSS performs multifunctional traffic analysis looking for multiple red flags in the behavior of hosts on the internal network. As cyber-threats are detected (regardless of how they get in), they are shut down and reported through a browser-based security console.
The MSS stands out because it dynamically builds a behavioral model of each internal network asset and uses data correlated from multiple sources, rather than just one, to identify threats. The MSS runs on an off-the-shelf server, as an internal network sensor, scaling from 50 Mbps to 10 Gbps.
"In an era of dissolving network perimeters, security practitioners need a solution that protects the network from the inside out," said Livio Ricciulli, CEO and Chief Scientist of MetaFlows. “MetaFlows is the first to offer a solution on the market to provide this level of protection."
About MetaFlows, Inc.
MetaFlows, Inc. is a privately held, California-based corporation focused on improving the sophistication of network security defense systems. Metaflows was funded with grants from the National Science Foundation and The Army Research Office to leverage software-as-a-service concepts in reducing the cost, while improving the effectiveness, of network security technology. Metaflows' products are today enjoying considerable traction because they demonstrably provide an unprecedented combination of cost-effectiveness and sophistication in the detection and prevention of Malware and other network-based attacks.
