Clark County, Nevada, Selects Accela Civic Platform to Build One-Stop Shop for Business Licensing, Permitting and City Safety

Accela Wins Competitive Bid to Help Streamline County Planning and Projects

SAN RAMON, Calif.--()--Accela, the leading provider of civic engagement solutions for government, today announced Clark County, Nevada, will deploy the Accela Civic Platform. Accela solutions will replace two legacy systems as Clark County upgrades its technologies, modernizing operations and improving its ability to serve businesses and citizens.

Clark County, home to Las Vegas and more than 2 million residents, is a major tourist destination and growing economic center. The Accela Civic Platform will be the heart of a fully-integrated enterprise system designed to support multiple departments, including Business Licensing, Building and Fire Prevention, Public Works Development, Comprehensive Planning, Public Response and Water Reclamation.

Accela is helping Clark County build a one-stop shop for business licensing, permitting and city safety, which will streamline and automate workflow between departments. The Accela Civic Platform will empower city workers, businesses and citizens to engage with each other more quickly and easily by using an expanded set of web-based and mobile application services. Clark County staff will have land, licensing and case management on the same system, making it easier to connect permits and licenses and access necessary data across the County. The Accela deployment will also mean citizens gain an online portal that simplifies communicating and working with the County about code enforcement, improving service for local residents and businesses.

As the Clark County team evaluated a new system, the experience, flexibility and market footprint of like size and complexity of implementations Accela offers was a priority. County employees were further impressed with the potential to embrace open data practices by integrating CivicData.com, a simple process that will not disrupt services to Clark County businesses and citizens.

“Gaining the trust of officials and employees in Clark County is an important achievement for Accela,” said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. “We look forward to demonstrating the value of the Accela Civic Platform to multiple departments across Clark County and to working with the staff to improve communications and efficiency going forward.”
